Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) Psychosocial Program

TNC offers a comprehensive psychosocial program that combines psychological assessment and treatment services to promote increased functioning and quality of life for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Our team uses evidence-based practices to assist individuals and their families in overcoming the psychosocial effects of illness or injury. The goal is a holistic and integrated approach that addresses both the psychosocial and medical needs of our patients. These services are offered on inpatient basis.

Diagnosis’ Treated

  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Other acquired brain injury (e.g., brain tumor, anoxia)
  • Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA, Stroke)
  • Spinal Cord Injury or disorder
  • Degenerative disease
  • Dementia
  • Medical conditions affecting brain functioning
  • Upcoming or recent surgery
  • Memory, attention, language problems that impair functioning
  • Chronic pain
  • Chronic insomnia and other behavioral sleep disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Sensory processing disorder
  • Adjustment issues related to disability or chronic illness

  • Neuropsychological and psychological assessment

  • Support groups for patients and families
  • Counseling for patients and families
  • Behavioral strategies
  • Cognitive-behavioral approaches
  • Spiritual counseling
  • Substance abuse assessment and treatment
  • Treatment of chronic and long-term neurological effects
  • Patient and family education regarding self-care and prevention
  • Interdisciplinary Psychosocial Care Team may include: neuropsychologist, psychiatrist, addictionologist, social worker, case manager and chaplain.

Dr. Daniel Garrison is the Director of Neuropsychology and has been with TNC since 2019.

Dr. Craig Franke is a general adult psychiatrist and also specializes in Addiction Medicine. He has been with TNC since 2011.
